Materials Testing

Materials testing utilizes various forms of laboratory equipment to determine mechanical properties of various materials that are incorporated into a structure. The most common types of materials testing performed include:

• Concrete compression

• Masonry block & prisms

• Rebar tensile & Bend tests

Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)

Using ultrasonic testing or magnetic particle testing, our technicians can determine the presence of flaws within a welded joint. Similar to x-ray or other “non-destructive” means, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) & Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) can determine the structural integrity of a specific material without destroying the base material. NDT can be performed on:

• Moment frames

• HSS frames

• Splices

• Plates, beams, and columns

• CJP, PJP, and Fillet welds
